Ok so here is the deal. I made a mistake but whats done is done....I signed up for the MCAT three weeks ago.
I had not been studying for it prior to it and i have not taken the mcat course.

I thought I was going to have at least about a month without any worries but ended up having to take summer classes because I was a little behind on my course work.
Meaning I essentially have not studied for it. I have taken a practice test but not the full version of it. Needless to say I didn't do well on practice, but I also didn't try hard enough.

Here is my deal. I could not cancel my MCAT on time. So I will be taking it at 2pm today ET.

I have decided that I will void the score and at least take it for real (and very expensive) practice... Unless you guys think I should score it?

I feel terrible because I can't make time to study for it. I really wanted to get into medschool in 2014... But I guess that's not going to happen. 🙁
What do you guys suggest I do? My last 2 semesters I will have 17 credit hours... So it will be hard to study too..
I'm beyond stressed right now. I need a better plan.

The caveat to taking this "very expensive practice test" is that, by voiding your exam, it wont get graded. Essentially you wont have any idea how you did. It will help you realize how stressful the actual test is, but you wont get any scoring information from it.

If your gut is telling you to void it, then do it, but if it says grade it after you finished the test, then go ahead and have it graded.

Good luck either way!

True, I guess I will at least know how the test will be.
I will more than likely end up voiding it. Just being realistic.

My gut tends to lie sometimes lol.

I'm in the same predicament. I moved my MCAT from the end of May to August 2nd because I didn't have time to study. I started studying at the end of June because of an illness, and it's not looking good at all. I could use another month and a half, so I'm planning on just taking the exam and voiding, since it's too late to change my test day.

My question is, how will it look to have a voided MCAT on my record. What will adcoms think? I remember a couple posters saying it was no big deal when I first joined this site, but I just want some more feedback from others. I decided not to apply this cycle, and apply next year and take some more upper division sciences, so timing of my score isn't essential.

FYI: If you don't show up for the test, no record is kept of that. There will be no score and no record of a scheduled test date.

FYI #2: If you show up and take the MCAT, and then use the void option after taking it, a record is kept. When you log in to the AAMC website under your username and click "view score" you will see the date you sat for the exam and the word "void" next to it. Even after you take the test for a score, you will still have that old record sitting there. There will be one line with your new score and the date of your most recent MCAT, and another line with "void" and the date of the voided test.

No adcom will know about the voided exam. Only scored exams will appear on your AMCAS (I had a voided exam as well, and it didn't affect me at all).

^^Thanks guys. A little relieved, but I'm still busting my butt between now and next Wednesday night so that I have a chance at a miracle and do well enough that I won't have to void.

Why do you think they didn't know? Because they didn't bring it up?

It just doesn't appear on your AMCAS at all, which is why they don't know. It appears on the MCAT score site for you to see, but the paperwork which med schools receive doesn't show it.

You can actually see what schools will see on AMCAS, or somehow be sure they only see what you enter? If so, that's great. I don't want everyone to know I voided one.
