I was processed in four days!!!!!!

I was worried about submitting my application too late. I am still waiting on my August MCAT scores, but I wanted to make sure my application was at the schools, with the completed LORs and secondary when the scores were released.

I submitted on Saturday, August 28th, and it has already been processed. I am impressed, because I heard horror stories about how slow AMCAS was.

Anyway, just to make sure, when I log on and the status of my application says "processed" does that mean AMCAS is finished with it, and now I just have to wait for the schools to download it?

If this is so, how can I tell when school has downloaded my application?

they'll prolly email you too that you were processed....you dont know schools have downloaded your amcas til ya get secondaries!

I haven't even turned mine in yet. lol. I feel like such a loser (please don't quote me on that). It's basically all ready though. I think I'm gonna turn it in by tomorrow for sure. It sucks having class & doing apps though, which is kinda why I've been so slow.

Have you finished editing your PS yet? Those things take a while. It took me a week to write it up. I edited it sooooo many times. I finally got so sick of it that I just took one whole day to almost redo the entire essay (put more emphasis on myself, my drive, etc.) It's hard to edit one paragraph at a time because then you lose focus or you rid essential parts of your essay. I mean, you can condense it all, but it was much easier for me to restructure the entire thing from top to bottom so that I actually had a specific goal in mind. Maybe that sounds weird. I dunno.

I hope I can get processed in 4 days! That's quick!!

it took me a half hour to write my first draft and over a week of constant editing to rewrite the 35 different drafts. the thing is I asked so many people their opinions and most people gave me conflicting edits. In fact many of my edits ended up back to my original after people told me to change certain things and others told me to change those same edits, coincidentally back to what i started with. 😉

Mine took 2 days. Submitted 8/31, processed today 9/2. All my transcripts (4) were already in. Maybe things are less hectic over there now.

wow this gives me hope, maybe i'm not in as bad shape as i think I am. 😀

Uh wait though. I discovered an error with my transcript verifications. They decided to play around with the semester hour values for a bunch of my classes and screwed it up. This particular transcript lists all the semester courses as 1 credit. So AMCAS decided to change just one year's worth of them to 3 credits but leave the rest of them as 1. Go figure. Hopefully they'll correct it as quickly...

yikes, i guess when they process it so quickly, they also make mistakes. I'd call them in a week or so if it's not corrected.
