I am Korean, and I am in college at sophomore in Korea.(KAIST)

I want to go on a Dental school in USA.
but I don't know that for forigners, opportunities exist going on the dental school in USA. Is it very difficult for non americans?

1. i wonder what schools are difficult to enter upon ....
and what schools are easy to go on ..for non americans.

2. DAT is difficult test in USA?
3.usually in USA dental schools to what extent gpa require?
4.and language is matter for me serious?
5.my school make students decide major choosing at sophomore in fall semester. So i have to decide my major at this semester.
but i am worried about choosing biology or chemistry.
for going on the dental school, what major is better ???

my english is so bad.ㅠㅠ.

first off I would suggest to go on to the international forum, im almost possitive you would find someone who knows the exact procedure. I would major in something I like. If it were me i would major in chemistry. I like chemistry, and I would think chemistry might be somewhat harder then biology, considering all the math and physics involved in the typical chemistry major, so I think it MIGHT make you a stronger candidate. I'm not really sure, and I doubt anyone on this specific board would be able to answer these questions. I think we do have a good number of canadians though who might have to go through the same procedures being international students? not sure. but I wish you the best of luck.

1. I'm with phosphorylation on this one. Check out the International Dental Forum. Different programs cater to different people.

2. That's a very subjective question. To some people, the DAT is easy. For others, they can't get over 20 even after a year of studying. If you plan to take the DAT in the US, you may have a problem with the Reading Comprehension section.

3. A >3.5 GPA and >20/20 DAT will get you into one school at the very least.

4. It may negatively impact the quality of your secondary application, i.e. you must turn in all UCLA secondary materials within 10 days of the post-marked date. But again, check the International Forums.

5. Don't make the mistake of entering a major just to please dental school admissions. Chose whichever major you are most interested in and will fulfill your dental school requirements. In other words, you could major in Under-water Basket Weaving and will probably get accepted if your stats are acceptable.
