I would like some comments on my list. My residency is Virginia. Are there any other schools should I consider which are OOS friendly? Also, what number of schools are/did you guys applying/apply for? Thank you in advance! I appreciate any comments!

Science = Basically all the courses with prefix biol, chem, and math.

The number of schools you've chosen is solid.

What about UPenn? Your stats are good enough. Maybe UCSF as well, worth a try with your stat.

Does entomology count or psychology in science GPA? How about undergrad research?

HAHA I thought UoP meant UPenn.. sorry about the confusion! I am having UPenn on my list 🙂
Does USCF accept a lot of OOS?

Thanks!

I think so. No idea about research.

UoP is good school, too. USCF doesn't accept a lot of OOS, but it's a great enough school to risk imo.

Take out ECU, as they do not accept out of state applicants. It's a state-only school. Other than that, looks like a good, well-balanced list.

I thought unc was extremely in state friendly?

Thank you! I didn't know it was instate only :/ Maybe I should've researched more haha

Really 🙁? Do you think I should take this out? Thanks!

UNC isn't too OOS friendly, but you have very solid stats and you have as good of a chance as anyone to get an OOS interview there. If you really like the school, keep it. After knocking out ECU you'll have 13 schools which is a solid number.

Thank you for your response! Yes, I do like the school. It is very pretty 🙂 haha

That's an old list. They include new courses on the updated one such as cog Sci and some other neuro related classes

I think you are applying to too many schools. I would cut 2. Apply to 7-12 schools. There are a lot Iwould cut from your list but schools I would keep would be Columbia, Buffalo, Case, UNC, Penn, Pitt and VCU

I agree with her, also apply to texas schools since its tuition price is beyond amazing!

Thanks guys! But I do have a question. Why do you recommend me to cut down the schools? Lots of people say it is about the right number and more people say that I should apply to more schools. Also, don't Texas schools need separate form of application?

I think they are suggesting fewer schools because your stats are so high and you might not need to spend the extra money applying to those schools. Having said that, I'd consider adding Iowa to your list. Your stats are good, they are pretty OOS friendly and from what another poster that attends there said, they give pretty good scholarships for OOS making the costs pretty close to in-state.

Oh now I understand. But I think I would need to be on the safe side for everything. Thanks for you explanation and recommendation! I'll definitely consider Iowa!
