Hi, I'm a highschool student, and I plan to take the PCAT in October when I first enter university. I was just wondering if taking IB Chemistry (highlevel) and AP Biology would cover the materials for PCAT? I AM buying some PCAT Prep books, of course, but I am curious if taking the advanced courses in high school would prepare me for PCAT. It states in the PCAT test contents section that there are some elementary organic chem questions on the test, so I am worried. In addition, I am self studying AP Bio, so I don't know if it covers human physiognomy(spelling??) much? Could any of you smart people please give me some answers? AND would being a young applicant present obstacles when I'm doing my interview?

You are not ready for the PCAT, and there's no reason for you to be taking it right now. Go through at least 2 years of undergrad. Enjoy your experience.

lol have fun taking it...you'll do very poorly. I took IB Bio and chem and let me tell you that you will probably only recognize a few stuff. take 2 years of undergrad. You need COLLEGE level bio. I know they tell you in high school that IB and or AP is college equivlant however it is no where near.

Not to mention you need calculus and organic. There is no reason to take the pcat this early. As fender said, enjoy it...

Don't go blindly charging into something you're not 100% sure about, it could be fatal to your mom's budget. 😉 My recommendation to you is to buy PCAT preparation books like KAPLAN, McGraw Hills, or Barron for now to see where you stand.
