Sorry to bother ya'll again, I asked this in my previous thread but it was buried at the end and no one responded, so I'll ask it here: I took out a Stafford loan in 2006 which I repaid in 2010, and I'm starting med school in the fall. Apparently, this makes me ineligible for the PAYE, but there's an IBR option which is nearly identical (10 percent AGI over 20 years). The stipulation for that is that you have no outstanding loans on 7/1/2014, which I didn't. Does this make me eligible for this IBR option?

So I talked to federal loans expert today, and apparently I would qualify for this option. In general, however, can I rely upon being able to use this plan when I graduate in 4 years?

I have the same situation as yours! Glad to hear the fed loans expert said so. Hope they know what they're talking about.
