There has been some scuttlebutt where ICD-10 reimbursements are tied to the number of diagnoses listed on billing information.

Can anyone clarify how ICD-10 and billing is managed, if there is any difference?

Worded a different way, the number of ICD-10 diagnoses provided when billing for services is directly tied to the amount received.

I'll try to see what I can dig up, although in the presentations and materials we received, it was fairly vague other than them saying, "we can bill more for it."

But this is a question where providing more documentation will allow coders to upgrade the E&M coding, thus collecting more money.

So far the only thing for me with ICD 10 is more screens to click in Epic and more time added to documentation. And also emails from administration about "icd10 is coming" in a Y2K level of aprehension.
