Positive enthalpy means endothermic. Heat is obviously put in to break the stronger bonds in the solid to form water. However, I thought an endothermic reaction lowers the temperature of the substance because the heat is used to break bonds (rather than an exothermic reaction which releases heat, thus increases the temperature. Obviously, when your melting ice, the temperature doesn't go down so how is it an endothermic reaction in this sense?? I have this confused.
