Oh man! at least your on the list.. maybe you should call them and see what you can do to improve you application.

😕

A minimum of 300 in each OAT section would be a start. The numbers in the 200s don't look great but the overall increase in numbers is promising but still on the lower end of the spectrum. Any thoughts of taking the test again? Or taking a couple of graduate courses to "pad your stats", so to say, to show them that you can handle higher level courses? I agree with the other who suggested calling them to ask them specifically what you can do above what you already have done.

What does this tell me? You definitely showed them that you can improve, which you have shown, but maybe they want more. The life/leadership experience is a real plus but the fact remains that you are still on the lower end of the spectrum.

Yeah, a higher Bio, Gen Chem, and Physics would definitely help. I'm not saying you need an insanely high score on all sections, but you need to at least be average (300 or higher) in every section. You definitely improved in terms of the OAT score and that's great, but you need to push just a bit further to remove some of the hinderance any sub 300s would cause. I would suggest holding on to whatever you know now and just studying a bit more or the weaker areas (practice tests definitely help). Take the OAT one more time when you're as ready as you feel you can be and good luck!

Unfortunately, stats are a big part of the admissions process and they may often be the "foot in the door". Once you get past that part, you can impress them with everything else you've done. Some schools may consider that as well in the early process, but most just have too many applicants to sift through and use stats as a quicker way to set aside what might be weaker applicants.

Those are big improvements! Retake the OAT once again and try not to get too many 200s. I know it's tough to work full time and study for the OAT but it's doable. Keep it up, you're almost there!:luck:

I was placed on the alternate list too! I am confused on what exactly this means and what my chances are for receiving a spot in the class.
