So I submitted my application to ICO on OptomCAS on 09/22/18. It got verified on 09/23/18 but I have yet to receive an email from them stating that they received it. I know that they only send an email to those that are “competitve” enougth to fill out their supplemental application, and it states it’ll take about 3-4 weeks upon them receiving the application until they reach out to us. My main concern is that I have an interview with Midwestern Chicago in Downers Grove on 10/15/18 and I am trying to plan my travels accordingly because I’m flying from Las Vegas and I just want to make sure I don’t have to waste travel expenses with flying and booking AirBNBs and hotels etc. IF ICO does end up extending an interview to me. Would it be inappropriate to email them kind of explaining this situation to them to see how my application is being processed or does that seem like pushing it too much?
 
I applied to ICO at like the same time and never heard back yet either. Unsure about what is taking so long as I've been offered interviews at 4 other schools that I applied to later than ICO. I wouldn't count on being able to interview by the 15th at ICO because they do have a supplemental application that must be filled out first, and then you have to submit that. Then they have to review that before offering you an interview. Even if you were offered an interview right now I would say chances would be slim to get an interview by the 15th, let alone having to do the supplemental application too. Like I said, I'm in the same boat and am also very antsy about getting this offer.
 
I got the email that ICO received my application and are reviewing it about a week after my application was verified on OptomCAS. A week later I was invited to complete the supplemental application. I was invited for an interview a little over a week after I submitted the supplemental but was able to reserve a day the very next week. Hopefully you should hear from them sometime this week.

Yeah I already accepted the fact that I probably would hear from them for a while.. But hey maybe we might see each other if we both end up getting offered for an interview with them! Which other schools are you interviewing with if you don't mind sharing?

I am interviewing at NECO, MCO, OSU, and PCO. And now just waiting on ICO. How about you?

Ahh I see, it's all east coast! LOL and I am interviewing at Western, Midwestern AZ, and Midwestern IL, waiting on SCCO and ICO. ICO and CCO are the only east coast schools that I applied to. I am a west coast guy, and my last resort is to move out there haha. Best of luck to you during your interviews with them!

I sent in my Optomcas application around the same time and I haven't heard anything back from ICO either! Did you end up emailing them asking what was taking so long?

I did email them yesterday about it! I originally sent my inquiry to the director of admissions but she is out of the office and forwarded the email to the admissions office of ICO. What are your GPA/OAT btw? Feel free to privately message me if you would prefer it to be confidential!

Ohh okay, would you be able to keep us updated please? All this waiting is killing me :'( My GPA is 3.56 and my OAT is 380 AA/400 TS.
 
Update: 10/08 got the email from ICO that my application has been received.

They stated, "Your application will be reviewed by our Admissions Committee in the next 4-6 weeks."

Let me know if anyone else got an email today!

I did too. I am retaking the OAT 11/4 though, so I would be really surprised if they considered me at this point.
 
AA 280, TS 260..I think I will do better this time around. I have strabismus and my eyes were crossing on the low-res monitors, so I requested accommodations so I am getting Zoom Text and 1.5x time.

I got an email this morning.
Later this afternoon I got one asking to fill out the supplemental application! You???

The grade form after the essay takes a bit
 
I got an email and they would like for me to email them my OAT score once I take the exam...kinda what I expected. Good luck to both of you and let me know how your interviews go!

I received one too. Still says I am on hold until my OAT score though, but I went ahead and filled mine out.

Hello! I submitted the supplemental on 10/09 and then I received the email for an interview invitation on 10/11. I have my interview scheduled for 11/02. but I am hoping I am able to push it back to 11/12 (its Memorial Day sooo idk if its possible..)

Nice! That's still good! When do you take your OAT? I believe it is just a requirement for you to have taken your OAT before they can officially offer you an interview.

Good luck! I'm sure you will score higher this time! My interview is scheduled 11/05 and I did not do too well on the OAT when I took it in the summer and was still offered an interview so there is hope.

Do you know what day you called to schedule your interview? I wanted to schedule for a later date but the latest they had when I called was 11/02.. But I just got back from Chicago literally last night for MWU CCO's interview and I just got accepted today! But now I gotta see how long it would take for ICO to reach back to me if I did get an acceptance offer..

Thank you! I was honestly super surprised with CCO, going into the interview it was probably my bottom choice, but after the interview process, it’s honestly my top choice based on how all my interviews have gone! Did you happen to ask if it was the furthest date out or did you just ask for the soonest one?

I just called and asked for that date specifically! I had three dates in mind and I told her the first one (11/05) which worked.
 
I just got in invitation to schedule an interview. I'm kind of surprised since I was on a hold for my OAT scores. I'm excited!
 
Im interested in applying to ICO. What were your OAT scores?? 🙂

Hi guys, I was just wondering if there's a limit to the ICO essay. It says "on a separate sheet of paper", so is this only limited to a page?

I had around 3500 characters for my essay which was about one page. I think the limit is 4500 characters.
