This is the most stressed out I've been throughout this years application process. Currently I'm number 1 on the wait list and have until August 24th to be accepted to Idaho State University's program. I'm really hoping that someone will drop so that I can have the opportunity to go there. I'm from Idaho and I live near the school and ISU would be the best option for my family and I. Does anyone know if ISU will give you a better wait list rank the next year if your not accepted this year? I'm hoping that I will get accepted this next week, but if not I was curious if ISU will rank me higher for next year. Any suggestions or thoughts??

It's out of your hands now so my only suggestion is to NOT stress. You've put yourself in a good position where you at least have a chance, so you can take some solace in that at least.

I left another program to go to ISU so people DO drop out, but this is the pretty much the end of the cycle (I don't know of any schools that are starting later) so I would think its less likely for someone to withdraw their seat at this point, but you never know.

That anxiety would be killing me! Jeffy, the best thing you can do at this point is breath deep. It is still possible. I mean, EWU sent me their acceptance with about three weeks before the semester starts. I declined the offer because I will be attending ISU. But that just shows you anything can happen. Do some yoga or meditation to calm your nerves.

As far as placement for the next year, I met someone at the open house who applied several times to ISU and didn't seem like he was going up much on the waiting list. But you of course have the opportunity to improve your application if you don't make it in this cycle. Best of luck.
