I want to ask about St George. Say you have an MD and are also an attending/researcher, i.e. you may qualify to work in academia in usa, what if you wanted to do it in that carib school? Do they have an affiliated hospital, so you could for example teach students a subject like biochem or anatomy and also treat patients? What kind of salary could you get there? I know the answer to this question will be 99% no,no,no.
So i wanted to ask about academia in general. How hard is it to get your MD degree, finish residency, and then teach at some medschool like Harvard and be an attending/researcher at the affiliated hospital at the same time? And how much would you be paid(i assume it varies for different specialties, like internist or plastic surgeon)?
Also is the point of people doing md/ph.d that instead of accumulating loans they just become independent starting with ms1(and get to teach ugrads while doing their ph.d), although they do live on a more humble salary?
thanks
