Hello, So I am trying to figure out the best Post bacc program for my situation and I need some help.

Overall gpa: 2.8 (around there)

BCPM: 2.3-2.45 (Somewhere around there)

I graduated last year, I have taken all of my premed reqs and I have retaken some of them. I am obviously in a pretty messed up situation, and I have finally got my head straight and would like to start on my Road to Redemption. I have been looking at Harvard's HCP, however I read a post off the Harvard 2009 forum, where someone got there check sent back to them from harvard HCP because they have already taken allot of science courses.

I have taken allot of science courses, and I am trying to figure out the best Post-bacc program for someone in my situation who has taken all the pre-reqs and many science classes on top of that, yet ended up with a real horrible gpa.

Any suggestions?

2nd bachelors @ a public school that has upper-div science majors, such as microbio, neurobio, immuno, biochem, genetics, etc. major in one of these.

why 2nd bachelors? you need at least 2 more years, you need registration priority, & you need fin aid.

why public? save money.

why an upper div sci major? sci classes help both your overall & sci GPAs, shows you can handle a full load of all science, gets you access to research faculty who can offer projects & LORs, helps w/the MCAT, makes 1st yr med school classes less devastatingly foreign.

also consider moving to Texas (or another inexpensive state like Mississippi or Vermont) and working there for a year before you start your postbac. if you're in CA or NY you won't be instate for med school anyway without adding years to your premed (cash-hemorrhaging) career.

best of luck to you.
