If I submitted all the secondaries on 9/15 how long should I wait patiently

.. 4-6 weeks before checking.
When can I expect to hear back, hear anything back?

Question #2:
Am I a little screwed by completing so late?
34/3.8

Oh well, nothing I can do to change that now.

You should plan on waiting till the school comes calling or till the application cycle is over. Since everything is rolling you never know when it will come. Just keep up the faith.

I'm paranoid because the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, which charges you a handsome grand (I think it's more now) for one application - have in fact, lost my application. Gone, lost, poof....
I wonder if med schools have better data management specialists.

well, I'm not gonna say it'll never happen, cause I know I never heard anything from Tulane but likelihood is very little they lose it. If anything, you'll be put in the review again pile and might not hear anything back from them till later. I'm talking probably more than several months unless you have amazing stats, then you'll hear quickly.

Check the school specific threads for all the places you applied to, to see which schools are likely to lose things. Most schools seem to be pretty efficient, but some tend to put things aside unless you call them or email them (NYMC is one example of a school that is not that organized). Another school designated a letter incorrectly (at least for my purposes, though honestly it could've gone either way), and by checking the dynamic status checker I could tell right away what was wrong and a couple of emails helped me fix the problem.

In general you could start hearing back within 2 weeks of completion (not secondary submission), but most will take 4-8 weeks, or even longer, at this stage of the cycle.

6 weeks before you start the harassing calls, and no you aren't by any means screwed unless you have a few felonies or something along those lines.

Give the schools a few weeks. They will contact you when they are ready.

Edit (literacy fail!): just hang in there! September isn't completely terrible as far as secondaries go, but realize that there's a giant pile of applications between the top of the pile and you (potentially), so it might take some time.

If I don't get into med school this year. I'm making more money.
