I'm so freakin' frustrated!

This semester is certainly not going as well as I wanted it to. Right now it looks like I will have a 3.2 for the semester..4 B's in Statistics, Anatomy and Physiology I, Applied Anatomy, and of all things..Geography! My one A is in Human Diversity.

My overall gpa after this semester will be around a 3.3-3.4. I just feel so burnt out this semester..I had a crappy Christmas break and didn't feel ready to come back due to moving into another house during this time. Absolutley no time to take a quick break.

This summer I am taking both my General Chemistry classes, plus Microbiolgy and General Psych. This is spread out from May 15 to August 3. Does anyone have any helpful advice on how to do well (read: get an A) in these particular classes? Also, am I worrying too much about one not so great semester?

Yeah, a little bit 🙂 A 3.3-3.4 GPA is still competitive. That was my overall GPA when I applied to DO medical schools and I got into my first choice 🙂 There are plenty of applicants with lower stats than that and they take other things into consideration as well, besides just GPA. Don't stress too much and gear yourself up to do well this summer. Can't offer too much help there though. All I can say is, study study study! Good luck 😉

Dude, all I can tell you is to not take both Gen chem's at the same time...

If that's what you're doing when you say both over the same summer, forget about it...

That's stupid in my opinion...

maybe you should not take so many classes over the summer and just focus on one or two...especially if you are feeling burnt out. I dont know your graduation hopes (3,4,5yrs) but there is no use in buring your self out in the summer getting A's only to not want to do as well in the fall. In the mean time, while only taking one or two classes you can do volunteer work etc...the ER was always a source of motivation for me. Good luck!

Each Chem class is 6 weeks or so. Microbiology is 8 weeks. The Chems are not at the same time of course, once I finish Chem I, Chem II follows. I have some volunteer work lined up with the local Hospice organization. I though this would be a really good oppurtunity and look good to adcoms.

Lemme tell you something dude...

Do NOT suffer through college because you think that's what adcoms WANT you to do...

You do what YOU want to do, and what's best for you...

Thanks for the advice. I think I may slow down next fall semester and focus on getting a high MCAT.

thanks again
