If I re-take DAT in 3 months, do I have to inform the schools now?

Hi, so I'm the one who posted the pathetic thread with my pathetic DAT scores that I just took 1 week ago.

I think I'm going to re-take the exam, but if I inform schools now, they will hold my file even longer. So, can I schedule a re-take in October, and not inform the schools, take my chances with my current scores, and if I improve in October, have the scores sent out then?

Thanks guys

Hey Zhopik! What did you score your DAT? I pretty much just posted a thread that asked the same question.

Some have told me to go ahead and call the schools and let them know I am going to take the DAT again. However, I have also had some tell me to go ahead and try with the score I have now and not inform them that I'm going to retake.

If the schools do reject you, do you have to go thru the whole app process again?? That would be terrible! I think I might just try with the scores I have now and just retake in Oct. and have the score sent out to the schools.

Good luck! 🙂
