How late I am?
I am trying to get my essay done but i can't because i have to study for the midterms this week. I am getting really angry 'cause i can't work on my essay. (I am taking 3 scienes with 2 other classes. 🙁 )
I found out about DO program pretty late.

I am just wondering, how late am i in the process if i will be able to submit my primary on this coming monday. (I already sent out my transcripts 3 weeks ago).

Seeing that people have already got in, i am getting very worry that I won't be accepted for 2007 cylce, and has to waste 1 whole year.
After all, the seats are pretty limited.

3.9 with 25 MCAT.
I have research in my science major and volunteer activites in hospital.
I will start shadowing a DO next week 'cause the physician accepted me to shadow him.

OK. This is probably going to be a bit harsh, so try not to take offense to it because I am going to give you my honest opinion.😳 I think it was 9/21 that you posted a similar question about your chances because you had still not applied yet. It is now the evening of the last day in October and you still haven't applied. Your numbers are fine and it sounds like you are getting your ECs together, but you absolutely run the risk of losing out on an acceptance the longer you wait. That doesn't mean that you won't get a spot, but it means that it may be more difficult the longer you wait. Everyone has things going on in their lives and they have all, (myself included), written their essays in the midst of everything else. I question how you will balance medical school with the rest of your life if you can't take five classes and write an essay. I wonder if you are really sincere about applying to medical school. There are people that are so determined and motivated to get into a school that they complete their applications within a day. You need to decide if this is what you really want and focus on it. Maybe you are hesitating because of self-doubt or because you are afraid to fail. But, you will never succeed unless you try. Sit down, write your essay, and submit your application ASAP if you want to apply. THAT MEANS NOW!😀 Sorry if this was too brutally honest, but I pride myself on my honesty and did not mean it in a nasty way. I wish you the best of luck if you end up applying, but you need to focus and do it.

Well, if you submit on monday and AACOMAS already HAS your transcripts, you are looking at 4-6 weeks before you are complete and the applications are mailed to the schools. That will take you to December. It may take one or two weeks before you get any applications and you have to count the holidays, so you may or may not get any applications until January. Then you have to get your materials in, etc. You are running very late in the game by this time.

Most schools have almost filled their class by this time, but may still be interviewing for waitlist positions. You can save your money this year and apply in June to get a better shot. But the final decision is yours.

Your numbers are good enough to get atleast one acceptance but I think it is little late. There are several schools who screen your primary application to invite you for an interview. I think they are WVSOM, KCUMB, NYCOM, UNECOM. You can finish up the secondary before interview for these schools. Other schools require you to submit secondary to review your file and invite you for the interview, which means it requires more time to finish application. Hope this helps. Absolutely NOT true. That's the biggest myth in all of the application process. With the rolling admissions cycle, most schools save spots for late applicants who are highly qualified. After the new year, they accept approximately a certain number each month and put other qualified applicants on an alternate list. They really don't want to miss out on good applicants because they already have all the spots filled by mediocre applicants. I know quite a few people who interviewed in March or April and are in med school today.

All that aside, yes, it is a good idea to apply early because you have a better chance of acceptance. But, every case is entirely different. Yes, there are some schools who will tell you that they are filled, but they usually find a spot for exceptional applicants.

At the middle of October, aacom received 2 of my transcripts. Then, I realized that I have to send out my 3rd transcript for "college now" courses that I took during high school. Hence, I sent that in 3 weeks ago. Aacom still haven't receive it yet.

I was thinking It won't make any difference for my application if aacom haven't receive my 3rd transcripts.
In addition, I wanted to put in shadowing in the hospital and other EC that I did in the month of october.
I tried my best to submit this week, but I needed to fix grammatical errors in my essay as well as 5 or 6 job experiences and ec descriptions in the application. As a non-native speaker, I have to make appointments in school to help them fix. With 4 tests that I am going through this week, I barely have time.

Nevertheless, I will get it done this monday for sure.
