I am getting 4 LOR's in total (3 professors and one dentist). 2 of letters from professors are strong ones, and one of them is weak. If I sumbit 4 letters and the school only require two from professors and one from a dentist, which two letters from professor will the adcome pick for evaluation. Will they look at all 4 letters?

Thank you so much!

I assume in the order they are received. The first three recieved at AADSAS will make up your file. The fourth AADSAS LOR will be discarded. The Dental schools will accept all your LOR's if sent directly to them. It's AADSAS that has placed a limit on the LOR's. I suggest you send three of the LOR's to AADSAS and the fourth one should be sent directly to the school.

remember.....not all schools require the same LOR......soome schools like u of minnesota wants 2 science 1 employer....not a dentist

I remember someone saying that AADSAS put a limit on the number of LOR's you can send them. What is the number? Can you send them 3 or 4? Also, a committee letter, which has multiple letters within it, only counts as 1 right??

thanks for anyone who can clarify this

my understanding was that they will send in all of them (up to 4 now) nd let the schools sort through them. I sent in 4 and the schools who only wanted three had 4 on file for me.

if AADSAS send all 4, how do I let the schools which 3 to look at? Or do they just look at all? Thanks!

If you're sending a committee letter with multiple letters in it, it only counts as one.
The schools will receive all 4 of your LORs, and most will look at all four.

Personally, my committee letter had 5 other letters attached to it (so 6 letters total). Every school I interviewed at had all 6, and read all 6 - I know this because they commented on how good they were and most interviewers even flipped through them in front of me while commenting. Additionally, no one ever said anything to me about having too many letters; in fact they all seemed to be very impressed with the LORs.
