it says not to personalize your personal statement, but in the unique circumstance if you will be only applying to one school....

Apply to more than ONE school? Then no need to personalize the personal statement! And increases ay chance of getting into a Dental School 😉

One is not enough!

I don't know what these unique circumstances are, but I still wouldn't cater it to one particular school. It's kind of assumed that applicants apply to more than one school because that's what logic suggests if your primary goal is to become a dentist. They're more likely to think you're crazy than be flattered by putting all of your eggs in their basket.

Ya, the dental school might get confused and think that you wrote your application wrong and that it wasn't suppose to be personalized to their school.

is your dream to go to that school or to become a dentist? rethink what you're doing. its going to be a red flag.

these people have no idea what they're talking about. if that's the only school you're applying to, personalize the heck out of it.

whether or not it's smart to apply to one school, that is a different question.

I appreciate all the comments. It doesn't have to have the actual school's name or city/state, even..... but more specifically what I'm asking (sorry if it would have helped to make this more clear) is.....should I personalize my personal statement to have a lot of faith/religious themes--which obviously wouldn't be THE most beneficial thing if I were going to be applying to a variety of schools... but could be counted as a "plus" for a small number of schools that I'm interested in..

Thanks

If all the schools you are interested in are faith-based schools, I don't see why not! Obviously, that's not going to be the only thing you discuss in your PS but definitely something to mention if it ties into dentistry, and if it's something that is important to you that also aligns to those schools' values.

Good luck!
