I was looking at how much time i had for questions and i realized i do not think i will have enough time for qbank and all my other q books so i am wondering if it is a must. I have qbook, nms, appleton and lange, blueprints q book, and rapid review q book. Is that enough? or would i be better of scrappign those and just doing qbank? thanks for any advice!

Don't think it would make much of a difference where you do your questisons. However, QBank is likely the most popular question source, and probably for good reason. The questions are good, few errors, nice variation in difficulty/content, etc.

One thing you should definitely consider with qbank is that it will get you familiar with the testing interface of step I. Also you will see how you do staring at a computer screen for hours on end. You don't want to be sitting taking step I and realize you get nasty headaches etc.. after being behind the screen. Other pros for qbank is that it gives you feedback on your strong and weak areas. If you want to use other questions sources that's fine but qbank should be your main one.

Personally, I found qbank to be invaluable in helping to prepare for step1. Some of the questions got a little repetitive, obscure but for the most part they are good questions with a layout almost exactly like the real thing which goes a long way when you are sitting in the exam, sense of familiarity breeds comfort. Have not used your other sources of questions except the appleton and lange pharm question book which was WAY too picky for step1, even if the content was interesting. Plus it goes without saying to take at least one of the NBME exams to see where you stand going into the real thing

I studied for approximately 3.5 months reading almost all of the kaplan organ system books, BRS path, BRS physiology and I finished Qbank. I did kaplan questions and the free NBME exams only. My score was a 246....its not a 280 like most people on this site seem to get, but I totally soiled myself when I got this score.

By far the highest yield studying I did in that horribly long time period was Qbank. At times during the real test I felt just like I was at home doing Qbank. In my opinion, it should be one of the first things you purchase for board study.
