You don't have to wait 6 months to start clinical rotations. You basically have a lot more time to finish them.

That's correct. However, a couple of those months will be spent studying for the boards and the rest relaxing before starting clinicals. You graduate with the same class that starts after you. Although this may seem like a long time off, it is actually a blessing because you'll get worn down and it's good to have a nice break before beginning clinicals. Also if you decide to decel, then you will continue with the class that starts after you and have less time to study for the boards. However, you will still graduate on time.
