Hello, I'm a junior in High School and I might plan on going to UF for pharmacy. I have a 3.5 gpa...and I'm practicing for my SAT and ACT. I heard UF is hard to get into, so can you please tell me [IF YOU GOT ACCEPTED] :

1. What gpa did you have?
2. What SAT/ACT score did you have?
3. Did you play sports???
4. What extracurricular activites did you do?

My sister had a 4.5 g.p.a and a 1150 math/reading score and just got denied. She did cross country and track, and was in spanish honor society I don't know what else she was in though. Pharmacy school at UF is completely different, but I would guess they give a preference to their own undergrad students. Good luck.

This has almost everything you need to know. If you memorize it, you can then ignore 99% of what you hear from other wanna-be-pharm students:

FWIW less than half of my class raised their hands when an instructor asked how many people have worked in a pharmacy. Everyone had a prepharm gpa and a pcat that matches what's spelled out in the above document. Nearly everyone had some community/volunteer or at least sports/club activity to put on their application but that is minor compared to prepharm gpa & pcat.

The WORST way to get into UF is to ignore the entrance criteria, listen to friends, and work 40 hours a week for several years in a pharmacy & think that it will impress an admission committee. Or think that 2.5 pre-pharm, 3.5 overall will impress them. No & no.

Well when I got into UF undergrad I had a 4.8 GPA, a 1230 SAT and More extracurricular activities than I feel to write. I also had leadership positions, graduated with honors and had about four chords from various awards. I only wanted to go to UF, so I did early decision and got accepted, and that's where I went. If you want to get into UF Pharmacy, going to UF for undergrad looks good. But you'll need above a 3.5 GPA, in the 80% percentile and above on PCATS and have some good extracuricular's, like pharmacy experience. Those stats will make you a competative applicant along with strong LOR's and essays. Hope that helps.
