If you had to do it all over again?

Would: many more schools then I applied to....I only did 7

Would not: ask me again in June...wait....JEFFERSON......yeah... still a little bitter about a rejection right after a check cashing....with a secondary that only asks if I have any family ties to Jefferson....no!

Unlike some who over estimated their application strength I now know I under estimated myself. This is where having a good advisor would have helped......in addition definitely more out of state schools....I wish I had realized earlier in the process that medical school is an amazing opportunity....and if I have to separate myself from family obligations (like taking care of parents/grandparents) and even my sig other (now fiancee) it could have been done if offered the opportunity!!!

I'd just like to note that for any future applicants reading this to keep in mind that everyone is unique, and just because someone else didn't like someplace doesn't mean that it wouldn't be perfect for you. I know people who really wanted to go to BU, and ended up very happy there, so just try and research schools on your own and don't be too biased by others opinions.
Personally I'm glad I applied everywhere that I did, I took a bit of a non-traditional path, so I applied to a large range of schools because I wasn't sure how I would be recieved.
I interviewed at Drexel and I'm glad I did because it was my first acceptance and it was so nice to know that I was in somewhere and was going to be a doctor.
I also really liked UChicago, they waitlisted me, but I think its a really great place, they have excellent clinical opportunities(Internal medicine residency in the top 3) and see things like scurvy and tuberculosis that you don't see everywhere.
