So let's say there was no application process, what D.O. program would you pick and why? I know this may be a little difficult since most of us don't know everything about every program.
I'd have to pick UNTHSC/TCOM, because I'm a Texas resident and finances are my biggest concern.
It's hard to say as I've got limited knowledge of their pro's and con's, but.... I'd probably choose:
1) PCOM - Close to home and highly respectable, I also love Phili, great rotations from what I've heard.
2) NYCOM - Close to home, close to the city, and highly respectable, board scores are incredibly high.
3) CCOM - Chicago is appealing, arguably the best DO school. Rotations are incredibly strong.
1. TCOM - Great reputation, cheap (after I get instate), location is great; university association is a huge plus for research (at least I would think).
2. CCOM - Excellent reputation, have family in Chicago, from what I've heard they have great rotation sites.
3. MSUCOM - Would actually never end up here, way to high OOS tuition and low OOS acceptance. Although arguably one of the leaders of DO schools, university research, high primary care rankings (7th). Atmosphere seems nice from what I've heard.
1) CCOM - everything about it was amazing except for the ridiculous tuition. If it weren't for the tuition I would be in Chicago as we speak
2) LECOM-B - Can't argue with the board scores and it just felt like a right fit for me outside of CCOM.
