if you have the 2012 adea guide, can you PM me something?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I just want the numbers for Kentucky, in regards to how many oos applications they receive, interview, and accept. Thanks!

University of Kentucky

In state: 190 applicants, 89 interviewed, 40 enrolled
Out of state: 1335 applicants, 51 interviewed, 17 enrolled

In state: 75%

University of Louisville

In state: 196 applicants, 126 interviewed, 45 enrolled
Out of state: 2751 applicants, 325 interviewed, 75 enrolled

In state: 37%

I was trying to order the guide last night, but the site kept saying that I had $0.00 in my shopping cart? 0.o Did that happen to you guys too?

thanks, wow didn't know it was that competitive for oos, 4 percent interview rate, darn.

A note for others - If you're truly a serious predent, you need to look into picking up this book. It is an incredibly valuable compilation of data, not only of schools, but other dental-related items as well. The ~$40 or whatever it costs is a small price to pay when you're looking at $100+ per school when an application is all said and done.

Actually its a good book to buy even if you aren't all that serious a $40 investment that tells you whether or not you should even be applying this cycle (thousands of dollars!) is very useful!

Keep in mind the number enrolled is completely different than the number accepted after interviews. I believe UKY granted 51 interviews to OOS students and 38 of them were accepted. I don't have the book in front of me, so if someone can confirm.

^That's not true, I'm not sure if you were looking at the wrong school. The University of Kentucky, in 2011, received 1335 applications from out of state. Out of those, they interviewed 51. 38 of those 51 were accepted to the school, but only 17 enrolled. It's still an out of state unfriendly school, like you said, but the numbers that you said weren't accurate. Refer to "Dental Schools' Applicants and Enrolless, In State Versus Out of State - Class Entering Fall 2011" in the ADEA guidebook in the beginning of the book.

I was using 2009/2010 data, sorry. Their trend is the same.
