Boston is one of the lowest paying regions for MDs in the US. I met a guy who was working as a orthopod making less than 90K FT, I cant imagine what you might get as a junior attending at Harrvhad... probably some pocket lint, a stale cheese sandwich and a tall cool glass of STFU.

Big academic med centers are worse than Kaiser, its damn near impossible to compete with them and working for them is often a fate worse than death.
