Right, you just practice doing problems with only the basic windows calculator. Which does have squareroot, which helps decently.
Just know how to manipulate exponents well, as well as scientific notation, and rudimentary logarithms rules. Shouldn't be too hard for you to also remember the basic trig functions, and a small table for sin/cos/tan relating degrees/radians from 0,30,45,60,90, etc.
Fortunately, even the stuff I mentioned above is only required for at most half the problems, or less. The rest you can do with the basic calculator very easily, if you were good with math you could even do without it.
