Research like new data that comes out about a new medicine, or recently the pandemic of inactivity.

How do you do that? Obviously get accepted to med school first, but what else? do you have to do phd?

You can get involved in any research field that was related to your graduate field. For example if you got a PhD in chemistry you do research in chemistry. If you get an MD you do medical research.
