Hi,

I'm non-traditional student starting my pre-requisite science classes now, and I am shooting for applying to dental school the end of summer 2011.
I have an opportunity to visit Tufts this month on an informal tour.

To anyone who has done the same, can you share some good questions that you've asked of the school or those that you think would be good to ask?

Thanks,

Brian

I was told by a few dentists I've shadowed some important questions were:

1. How much practice do you get with anesthesia?
2. How much practice do you get in business management?
3. What specialty programs do you offer?

Although you could find the last one on the website, I have done tours at 3 schools before applying and that question has always come up. As for the first two, I'm not sure if you would ask them now or when you might be interviewing there but if you feel comfortable with your tour guide I would say yes. I noticed when I asked this question once I had a 1st year student who didn't really know exactly how many days/hours of practice they got with them though so he didn't definitively answer my question, but he told me a lot of other great stuff about their program.

well i am interested in visiting some dental schools that are out of state. I have already seen the ones that are in state. I am concerned about the expenses. How many of you have visited out of state schools that you are interested in applying to?
