If you're late to an interview and cannot make It on that day?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Just out of curiosity: what would happen if someone couldn't come to an interview because of some extreme situation (i.e. an accident or delayed flight) is this an automatic rejection or can the still reschedule an interview for you if you contact them after the interview has already begun? It hapened to A friend of mine and he doesn't know what to do!

Seeing as you had your ASDOH interview scheduled for the 20th, and you're posting this on the 21st, I'm going to assume this happened to you. I would contact the school and explain what happened. I bet it varies from school to school. They may have been more likely to reschedule earlier in the cycle. It's just so late that they may not have many spots left on the remaining interview dates. That's a really tough situation. I hope you can get another shot at the interview. Best of luck

Haha thanks. I guess My post was way too obvious. Yep it did happen to me. The thing is that I tried calling the school admissions probably 30 times throughout the day since I could not physically go there and all I keep hearing is the same "you've reached admissions I'm away from my desk..." I interviewed at USC and my heart is really set on that school. I really get at home there so maybe God is just givin me a sign I don't know! The crazy and alarming thing is that I'm pretty relaxed and calm about all this!

Ha, you may want to leave the USC part out of your message when you contact ASDOH. There are no guarantees about USC, though, so I would do everything possible to reschedule for ASDOH. At the very least, I would try to send an email to admissions explaining what happened, as well as a voice mail. I think it would be better to have done it during the day it was taking place, but it should also be helpful the day after. It's good to stay calm, but don't get complacent. While the idea of USC helps you relax, use the idea of having to go through another cycle if USC doesn't pan out to help you get in front of this ASDOH stuff and try for another shot with the interview.

Try looking up a different number and say it was a mistake and ask if they can transfer you to the right number. Sometimes that bypasses these automated messages.
