Overall GPA 3.14
Science GPA 3.57
GRE 1110 Cumulative

Total PT related shadowing hours 155

Total research hours over 1000

Extra Volunteer Hours: 75

Hours worked in a hospital setting: 25hrs/week for two years

Groups: Alpha Epsilon Delta member, Home Owner's Association President, and Dallas Sustainable Living member.

I applied to UTSW (I know this is a long shot but I did my research fellowship here), TWU, and UNT Health Science Center. My GPA is really low because I was a music major my first semester of college and really screwed around. 👎

I took a semester off to figure out what I wanted to do, transferred schools and had a 3.7 GPA at a community college, and will graduate with my bachelors in biology from UT Dallas with roughly a 3.5.

How much will they take into consideration my first semester when I was a music major rather than a biology major?

Good luck to everyone!

I think most schools like to see an upward trend as far as grades are concerned and some even offer freshman forgiveness where they completely disregard the first year and look mainly at the last 60 credit hours. And it definiteLy helps you that your pre-req GPA is much higher than your overall GPA.

I'm not an adcom member but, dont stress! You should be okay! You have good hours and extras, just write great essays and get good recommendations! Good luck to you! :luck:
