IM categorical wantint to switch into anesth

finishing up my first year and wanting to switch into anesth as CA-1 or CA-2 in july 09 preferably in chicago area, but willing to relocate anywhere. any help much appreciated...

I've noticed a general misconception from posters on here from other specialties looking to transfer. A CA-2 position is for someone who has already completed an intern year AND one year of categorical anesthesia.

Hope that helps clear things up. I've seen advertisements for open CA-2 positions and noticing that interns are inquiring about that position.

Have you contacted the various programs in Chicago and inquired?
