Hey everyone thanks for all the replies. I know SDN is probably not the best place to ask for love advice but I don't think anyone besides a dentite would understand our pains.

I talked to her but I didn't talk about the incident specifically. I tried to test the waters by asking indirect questions and basically, I'm getting the vibe that shes hung up on med docs. -_- I never thought she would be so ignorant and illogical. This sucks.

If there is a pride issue between medical doctors and nurses, than you being a medical doctor would seem in her mind to put her on the same playing field as the doctors she works with. She can always say,"My boyfriend, or husband or whatever, is a doctor." Peoples identities are sometimes centered around their significant other's accomplishments. If the doctors she is around look down their noses at dentists than you will never hear the end of it, at least until your first paycheck comes in. Bottom line you need someone who supports you now because when dental school hits you'll be spending your time at school and she'll be spending her time around single doctors and residents.
