But I'll only have 2 years of undergrad under my belt. So I decided to take 2 summer courses to additionally prepare me. It's going to be two of the following courses.

Cell bio, Physiology, Anatomy, or Biochem.

In your guy's experiences, which two courses would be most helpful? Thanks.

I'd say Physiology and Biochem...most schools require these classes for 1st year students. Look at your school's required courses for P1's. That might help you decide.

I would also say to make sure to take time to enjoy your last summer of freedom..it is great you want to get a jump on things and prepare yourself. But at the same time, every school emphasizes different material with regards to how they teach the basic sciences. For example, I took Biochem in undergad and it was very different from how it was taught in pharmacy school in the resepect that they taught things that were more health related. Your school will teach you what they want you to know.

I think the other 3 classes are "Easy to follow" as you learn it through pharmacy school. Biochem seems to be tough to absorb the first time around so having it as review in pharmacy school is definitely a plus.

And I always think anatomy sets up a good base for physiology and other human biology classes (aka...learn WHAT is there before knowing was IT does).

So my vote go for anatomy and biochem. But damn, those 2 classes during summer would be a lot of work RIGHT before school starts.

Most everyone in my first year class struggled with biochem during pharmacy school. I took it in undergrad and didn't have a problem. It's a lot easier the second time around.

Anatomy is a waste of time. You will not need to know the names of bones and muscles in pharmacy school. Physiology has a lot more relevance. My school required both Anatomy & Physiology with labs as a prerequisite, so they didn't cover this in school. You were expected to know this material going in. Check the schedule at the school where you will be attending and see what's required. If they teach you anatomy & physiology, then don't take them. Those are easy enough classes the first time around.

Cell biology is very important, too. You will use this info throughout pharmacy school. How things are transported into cells will help you immensely.

Ok, I finally decided. Biochem and Physiology. I'll take them at a community college so they won't be that hard, but should provide a good enough base . . . hopefully.
