Hello guys i recently just got my high school equivalency diploma and i want like to pursue a career as dentist but i dont know where to start like what type of degree should i get and also i heard that it takes 8 years 4 years for your bachelors degree and 4 years for dental school , and another thing i have been thinking about what type of job can i get after i get my bachelors degree because eight years is a long time do you get to work as a intern or something can you guys answer my questions and give me your suggestions i would really appreciate it 🙂

You have a long road ahead of you. First you need to go and get a bachelors degree. You can get one in any major but u need to take the pre-requesites for dental schools (bio, chem, etc). During your third year you will take the DAT and then apply to dental schools in the summer between your third and fourth years. You can try to work during these four years. You then get to dental school and have another four years. You will not be able to work during these years and will more than likely be dependent on loans to live. Good luck

I don't see a single period in that entire paragraph of incoherent drivel.

Major in anything, I would suggest a biology major or another science.

either way take the pre-recs

Bio1 and Bio2 with labs
General Chem 1 and General Chem 2 with labs
Organic Chem 1 and Organic Chem 2 with labs
Physics 1 and Physics 2 with labs

Calc, writing, social sciences and psychology make well rounded applicants

Also look into upper division sciences like physiology, biochem, microbio, cell bio..etc

Check dental school that you would be interested in to see pre recs

check predents.com for the GPA and DAT scores you wanna shoot for.

Take the DAT after you finish those pre-recs, and make sure you go through SDN for proper review materials.

You'll need I think 2 science and 1 non science letter of rec, plus 1 from a dentist. familiarize yourself with AADSAS application.

Study and get good grades, try not to get anything under a B+

good luck

Make sure you go to a 4 year college/university and not a community college. CC will just make your ds application look worse. Perhaps you should consider a few courses in English grammar to help you personal statement.
