I'm a junior at the top of my game right now. I got the highest grade in my OChem Class last semester, I've gotten nothing less than a 4.0 since my second semester in school, and I've been really interested in the subject matter up till now.

I have a social life and my EC's don't just include pre-med stuff but I'm losing focus, getting bored, distracted, tired of the constant work. I can't help but think "is this what it'll be like for the next 10 years?" I'm getting sick of the stupid reactions that I have to memorize, I'm tired of stressing over midterms, bored with the overall "educational experience."

I know what my goal is and I know what needs to be done. I'm doing it but I'm also losing focus. I'm not burning out or anything, I'm just bored and tired of the same old routine, what do you do to motivate yourself?

...i really need another 3 day weekend

I look up med school websites so I can remind myself of the immediate goal. Plus I get excited about the new classes I get to take, you know, be all giddy nerdy and stuff.

You get over it. It doesn't get any easier once in med school. There are still more reactions to memorize, and if you think your stressing over tests now, just wait.

what's wrong with you people 3 is so much better than 2. 3,1,2,4

This may sound far fetched but I have seen and talked about it with my friends and have also gone through it myself. I have a hunch you wont really be dropping your grades in any of your courses and I also have a hunch you dont really need to find the motivation to do your work because you will do it no matter what. Like it or not because thats who you have been and are etc etc.

What I believe you might be feeling, a little early but you are doing well for a premed (congrats btw), is that feeling of being rather then becomming. Not that your an MD or even a medical student, but the anxiety you shared with your freshman chemistry buddies has long since wore off. ("will we be cut," whose going to switch majors...etc")

Maybe, call me crazy, you are just comfortable with your abilities. No longer gunning to be at the top because you are already there. Maybe the anxiety of "am I good enough," has begun to ware off. You know if you but your mind to it youll get into to medical school and are not worried.

The good and the bad of it is. Congratulate yourself for doing so well, pat on the back for the confidence. But be very weary of this emotion. It comes and goes, but there is nothing like waisted talent. I am not worried about that for you really. I promise that come the summer for application to medical school, your little fire will blare up and youll be back into the gunner of it again.

Take it from another Ochem ninja. Ive been there. Hang in there, there will be more then enough to keep you on your toes in no time. Dont believe me? Come join us and you'll see.👍

#2 has a successful show on Showtime.

Left-to-right 4, 1, 2, 3...but girl in the brown bikini needs to realize that the darker the bikini color, the smaller your boobs look...

You should be my wingman since our taste is so different.

I don't get it #2 is the plainest jane of all of them. some please explain

Meh, they all have unrealistic body types. I'll pass.

BDAQ.... wait... no.... just bragging

3 by far, 1, 4, 2

2 is too thin. Thin is hot, but only until a certain threshold where you're ribcage-thin. Maybe it's her pallor or height that makes her ribcage more prominent, or maybe my taste is off, but she's last and it's not that close.

3 is sooooo much hotter than everyone else.

3,2,1,4 for sure.

3 looks like michael jackson.

mexico is by far the hottest. hot hot hot hot

lol. I can't believe you all rating girls.

Well, in my opinion, #4 is pretty hot.

Can't be that skinny eh? I like the booty.

WOW! The future of MEDICINE.

Seriously, to address this person's main concern.

anonymousername, what I usually do if I get numbed by all the mechanisms and impersonal learning environment is take a break and read some medical humanities (e.g. medical sociology, bioethics, narrative medicine, etc.) Try it. It might help.

MSB, much love... That is, if you're being sincere. 😉

God forbid future doctors have a sense of humor.

2,3,1,4 but seriously, if you are into women and on SDN you should count your blessings if you had a chance with any of them

I will learn the failure of Tiger Woods.
