Hello all,

Any programs in NYC that are not too competitive? I know NY is the toughest place to find those, but maybe someone can help. I did not take step, only Comlex — and with less than competitive scores.

Feel free to message me privately if you prefer. Thanks.

Why on earth would you want to go to NYC and go to a non-competitive program.... NYC is full of **** places to train that will gladly take you.

Lenox Hill, NYP Queens, SUNY Downstate, Mount Sinai St Lukes, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Staten Island University Hospital, and Westchester + NYU Winthrop + Stony Brook (I know not in NYC) are not super competitive and at least not aggressively malignant IMG factories (assuming the rumors about Downstate becoming more humane are true), though without Step 1 I'm sure some of them won't give you the time of day. Obviously there are others like Coney Island Hospital, Elmhurst, or Methodist which are less competitive but more scut heavy. You also might want to look at the match lists @ Touro and NYCOM to see an idea of where they match IM. Also check Frieda/program websites to see if they accept COMLEX only.

You may also want to look into New England and the Philadelphia area for programs which may be less competitive for location reasons.

Thank you, I will look into all of these programs!
