...I just nailed an interview very recently. And I think I may be getting an acceptance letter in the mail soon.

However, for SOME reason, I'm almost 'scared' to get accepted :scared:

Can anybody explain this?

Did anybody feel the same way?

What do I do?

Some people are afraid of rejection. I'm afraid of success.

Hello,

It is common for people to be nervous when they are about to embark to such a major life decision. However, if you wondered if you have made the right choice regarding your career, then you really need to re-evaluate your goal. Dental school not only put a financial strain on you but aslo requires such a sacrifice in your life (4 years of hard work) so make sure that it is for you. I am very happy with the decision I make. DP

Afraid of success? Never heard of such a fear. I however am afraid of heights and claustrophobic. The human brain is a wonderful thing! 😱

im afraid of rocks. damn rocks....just sitting there....staring at you with contempt and so much hatred.... :scared:

Don't worry. Once the adcoms read Nathan Wright on the app., they'll drop it right in the trash! :meanie:

afraid of success....hmmm ...successophobic???....i guess i learn something new each day. i think you need to toughen up a little and celebrate.

I'm afraid of winning the lottery. I just bought a ticket and am pretty sure I'm going to win. But if I win, I'm not really sure I want the money.

Does anyone feel the same way, or am I just crazy?

"It is OK to haev butterflies in your stomack, you just need to direct them well."
(dont remember who said this)

It is usually failure that makes a person feel alive, not success. A lot of drug addicts and compulsive gamblers get the greatest high when they know that they are down and out, losing, on the edge of breaking, faulted, a lemon! It is a brutal fact that some of us unconsciously want to fail...i get the same feeling sometimes about things. B/C, once you get the acceptence letter it is back to the old blaw you are used to.
