You'll be fine and by the by **ahem** you may want to adopt a tad more humility in light of the fact that there are many on this board who have yet to receive even one invitation to interview. Congrats on the early 8.

Listen I was thinking of titles for your next post. This one came to me:

"Hey guys do you think it matters if I get my pants cuffed? What if my interviewer doesn't have cuffed pants and I do? Should I kiss that school goodbye? HELP!"

"Hey do you think it matters if I use a windsor knot? What if the interviewer thinks I'm elitist? Should I just play it safe and use a bowtie? Do you think it matters if it's clipon? Someone please alleviate this intense feeling that my entire life is a failure by comforting me in my time of need!"

Are you a troll? Seriously...if you can't get in with eight interviews, you have a major lack of social skills. Be considerate of others. Eight interviews is more than enough to get you at least one acceptance, and most likely, many others also.

With eight, the odds are definitely in your favor. But eight interviews also means you are quite smart, so I'm sure you understand why some people with fewer interviews than 8 might not appreciate the original question

A personal anecdote that is probably not representative of the norm: Up until last week, I had heard from 6 schools post-interview and was waitlisted at all six.

Lesson: You are in a favorable position. However, even with 8 interviews, you are not home free. Stay motivated and treat each interview as if it is your only one.

Actually, I don't really care. He'll probably get a few acceptances, proving once again that the system does work 👍 It's not so hard to have a different and better personality the day of the interview, is it ?

I second that! I have had four interviews so far and have one more next week. So far I have heard from three of the schools where I have interviewed and got waitlisted at two of them and flat out rejected from the third--and two of these (including the rejection!) were my state schools. I am REALLY hoping for an acceptance from Tufts (the fourth interview I had), that would take a lot of stress off right about now. Best of luck to you with your interviews!

hahah! Funny, that was very similar to my next thread... at my last interview I had 3 buttons and my interviewer only had 2, so I was a bit worried about my chances for acceptance there.

In other news, if the OP was REALLY obsessed and not just a wee bit neurotic, he/ she would bust out their calculator and calculate the statistical likelihood of acceptance based on number of interviews/ percent accepted (not that I did anything like that 😎 )

i did that a few weeks back and come up with some absurd number in the high nineties, which was comforting. however, given the red sox comeback this year and a girl from my high school who calculated odds for college acceptances but didn't get in anywhere I don't trust statistics so much anymore...well i do but fear i'm going to be that 1% that doesn't get in.... (can't believe i admitted to calculating that...)

I imagine this is how it happened: the reviewer saw your file and went home for the weekend. He kept tossing and turning. He knew he just couldn't wait till Monday to alert this wonderful applicant of her interview invite from Haaaaarvard. So, there, honey, you're in. You sound like a great person.

thanks! yeah i didn't get the private message but thanks for the vote of confidence. I hope you are right! I am the type of person that gets nervous flying on planes even though I know statistically its so improbable so you can imagine how unsettled I feel about med school admissions.
