I haven't heard anything from medical schools in almost 2 weeks and today I get an email in my inbox.... YAY!!!!




And then I open my inbox....






SON OF A B****! It's a stupid solicitation email from NECOM. I DON'T WANT TO GO TO YOUR SCHOOL SO DON'T SEND ME CRAP!!!!!

Got my hopes up and everything, those bastards....

I hear ya... Dry spells suck. Getting junk mail from other med schools and podiatry schools sucks 🙁 BUT, it will all be over in a few months....

yeah, most of my mail goes home and my parents are uttlerly clueless...they get very excited and tell me about big, thick white envelopes the postman brought and beg to open them...

and then they get very excited about New York School of Podiatry or random DO Schools and ask things like, "Well podiatrists are doctors, too, right? If they're already sending you things, they probably want you! What a good fallback plan."

I'm going to be tearing my hair out after October 15.

If some fool calls you while you're eating dinner trying to sell you car insurance you're probably going to be annoyed, even if it's the best deal on car insurance in the whole friggin' world. I just can't stand it when so-called reputable schools spam me.

Yeah, I'd expect spamming from a porn company, not a reputable medical school. I don't think it helps the school's image much at all to do so. Just an opinion

Oops. I didn't mean to diss podiatry schools or any other schools. It' just not the right option for me. But I'm sure DOs and podiatrists love what they do.. so good for them.

And to other posters, just b/c some people have interviews (and good ones at that-- jeez Dr. Thom 😀 ) doesn't mean they have no right to complain. This process is frustrating for everyone 🙂

I actually like getting spam from various schools. I didn't even know there was a med school in Maine. Same thing with MCW. I guess I knew it existed, but that was about it.

I guess it's kind of random, but in my spare time, why not check out a med school I'm not going to apply to. If it sounds nice, maybe I'll suggest it to a friend who is applying in the northeast or the midwest.
