All of us search available websites for data when we apply. Please join me in creating a thread which will help IMG's who walk this path in future!!

Please post your data in the following format:

1. Number of programs applied to:
2. Date of submission of Application:
3. Number of Interview calls:
4. Places interviewed: (optional):
5. ROL length:
6. Where Matched:
7. Any percieved hostility/bias for/against IMG's:

My data is as follows:

1. Number of programs applied to: 37
2. Date of submission of Eras Application: 10/12
3. Number of Interview calls: 13
5. ROL length: 7
6. Where Matched: Matched at # 2 choice U of Florida

Did not rank Wash U (Mo), which is an excellent program due to attitude problems towards IMG's.

1. Applied to 33 programs
2. Sept. 1
3. 27 invitations to interview
4. 10 interviews, all in southeast US
5. ROL 10 programs
6. Matched University of Florida, #3 and very happy
7. Denied interviews at UVa, Emory, MUSC, Vanderbilt, JHU, and Duke

I am a Caribbean US citizen FMG, and given this year's competitiveness in anesthesiology, I am pretty psyched to get UF. Seems like southeast in general is less IMG friendly than Northeast and Midwest. Don't know about west, did not apply there.

Cajunmoon - see you in Gainesville!

1. Applied to 36 programs
2. on Sept. 10
3. 29 invitations to interview
4. 11 interviews, mostly in southeast
5. ROL 16 couple combinations
6. Matched Medical U. of South Carolina #2 on ROL - sooooo happy to be moving to Charleston
7. Denied interviews at UVa, Duke, Vermont, USF, Never heard a peep from Emory, Duke, Georgetown.

Congrats on UF guys.. they were next on my list. I was a couples match, though, and the Peds programs were very different. As a USIMG from Ireland, I'm just happy to be moving to a place that flies the Stars and Stripes outside. 5 years in Europe is taking a toll. No March Madness for instance!! But I wouldn't do things any differently. After all, that couple I speak of....I met her here in Dublin.

Hi Cajunman!

1.applied 35
2.got 15 interviews
3.interviewed at 13
4.ranked 11
5.matched at University of Miami

I am a non -US citizen IMG ,univ of miami was my 3rd choice, from all the above posts seems like Florida is not that IMG hostile after all
for all those who matched in miami ,keep in touch and hope to see u soon...

1. Number of programs applied to: lots
2. Date of submission of Application: late (11/5)
3. Number of Interview calls: 15
4. Places interviewed: (optional): 12
5. ROL length: 10
6. Where Matched: UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson
7. Any percieved hostility/bias for/against IMG's: Only at the places that wouldn't give me an interview (cornell, columbia, sinai)

I am a carib usfmg, solid boards and overall strong application. RWJ was my 2nd choice and the strongest program on my list.

👎 to miami for lies/screwups or whatever resulted in me being left off their rank list.

👎 to maimonides attendings "yoo shood apply to downstate.. they take aneebodee at downstate" aka #9 on my rank list after I turned down a prematch  .

👎 to cook county for making me fly all the way there for one of 4 categorical spots after I specifically asked them if they could offer me an advanced spot.

🙄 to westchester "yoo are only fmg you make big trouble for us here"

😛 to the place where i got thrown out of the OR on my second look (you know who you are)

Honorable mentions: Eintsein/Montefiore - great faculty, very resident friendly, St. Lukes Roosevelt - one of the last 'hardcore' gas programs around. Overall I was pleased with the match results, After being rejected by every friggin med school I applied to I get to practice medicine at one of the top university programs in the northeast! go me!

i would like to congratulate all those IMGs who have matched into an anesthesiology residency this year.

quick question:
besides the places named above, can u name any other IMG friendly residency programs in anesthesiology? (esp. for the student with average board scores)

can u plz all write down ur scores too....so as to get a picture of how much an IMG needs to get into anesthesia.Thx
