It turns out Central Payroll apparently thought I was an illegal alien since July 1st and didn't cut me a cheque. Reason for this was, even though I had my visa documents in order since April, I hadn't turned up at Central Payroll to show my face and said documents so that they could verify my immigration status.

So you guys on visas know what to do the moment you get your brand-spanking-new DS-2019 and I-94 next year.
