So if a person takes the Salk Vaccine, why is there no development of CD8 + memory lymphocytes. Yea.... having one of those brain freezes.

Killed vaccine. Will not infect so cells will not present stuff via MHC I, which interact with CD8 cells.

I know it's not your question (and you probably already know this), but the live vaccine is the oral one.

Cell-mediated immunity (CD8+) is always for live vaccines only.
