Do I need to know different types of Igs (IgG, IgM, etc)?

There are so many of these and I am about pooped studying specifics. I have not come across anyone that talked about Igs

I haven't seen any practice test questions asking for specific differences, or something like that. I've only seen one question regarding antibodies (immunoglobulins) as globular proteins, rather than fibrous proteins.

All I did was memorize what the diff Igs were, but not their functions or differences. Ive taken the DAT twice and many practice tests and their functions or differences has never showed up.

I know this question was answered, but for the original poster,

you have to really use your judgement when studying for Biology.
it'll improve your score. don't skip out on any topics, but the details, use common sense to see if it seems important, then if you have time, get the details down. I just graduated in Physiological Sciences and we hardly covered those differences! lol.

It takes 2 secs to remember all the immunoglobins.

remember MADEG

IgM IgA IgD IgE IgG

call it a day haa 👍

i think the most important thing is that immunoglobins are made up of 2 heavy and 2 light chains. They also have disulfide bonds which is a form of covalent bond..

gL man..

If you are an over-achiever I remember that IgG is the only one that can pass the placenta! lol
