I was recently told by someone that pharm schools weigh certain courses (mostly chem courses) more heavily than other courses. is this true?

I wouldn't think too much about this. Pre-reqs are your most important classes, especially your science/math pre-reqs, past that I wouldn't worry too much about each individual class.

Although you're right that some classes in particular they look closely at, mostly the ones most people have trouble with (ie Orgo, Calc, AnP)

Chemistry has more weight than my basket weaving and western dance classes? Preposterous!

hahahahaha ^

yes, pharm schools I have been told love when people pull good grades in orgo, but at the same time, they really like to see you take heavy class loads and pull good grades. From my experience, I have been taking heavy course loads and pulling B's in them and got interviews to all 6 school I applied to. I have been told even by the Dean of a pharmacy school that they would rather see B's with a good course load then see A's with a easy load. This is because they feel that you are just trying to boost your gpa.

What exactly.... dictates a light or heavy workload...?
