I'm trying to study biochem on my own since my school doesn't really stress biochem and I was wondering how important it is to memorize each step in certain pathways such as glycolysis and krebs cycle. I know in FA they show all the steps in each pathway but I wanna know if I need to know each step. Any advice would be appreciated!

i would focus on the steps that are regulated, as well as the ones that have been somehow implicated in a specific disease mechanism.

i can think of worse ways to spend time though, then to have all those diagrams in FA memorized. just draw 'em out until you can picture them on command. it's still easier than knowing all the pharm nitty-gritty.

Haha thanks for the advice. I think I'm gonna watch those kaplan videos for biochem and then try to get all those pathways into my head before June!
