importance of OD LOR?

Hi guys, does anyone know if it's possible to get into an optometry school without a LOR from an OD? I mean, has anyone heard of something like that? Thanks in advance.

It's basically required from every school and the unwritten rule from the rest. So you know you want to really enter the field and have worked in it or shadowed.
