So I just took my DAT today, things turned out quite well... except for my PAT.

My scores were as follows:

QR- 20
RC- 21
Bio- 21
GC- 20
OC - 24
PAT- 17
TS- 21
AA- 21

oGPA-4.0
Science GPA-4.0

How important is the PAT? Will it severely affect my chances of getting accepted and should I consider retaking? I really would prefer not to retake it unless I had to. I honestly put in a decent amount of time in to studying for the PAT (apparently it didn't help too much, I thought the DAT section was much harder than what I had been studying).

Thanks!

Not too much, I tried to utilize all of the free resources I could online... I also had an old kaplan CD which had 3 PAT sections on it. That in addition to the free kaplan diagnostic test, the free DATqVault test, and the 2007 sample ADA test. I knew going in to the test it was my weak spot. My scores from the sample items I posted above usually ranged from 18-20, though I had heard kaplan is significantly easier than the real thing for the PAT (definitely an understatement in my opinion...).

I guess in reterospect, had I known how hard it actually was going to be, I could've studied harder. Not much I can do now though. Since my other scores are pretty solid I just wanted to make sure this wasn't a "dealbreaker".

You will be fine. I'm in the same situation as you. I haven't taken my DAT yet but PAT is definitely my weak spot...I have a 4.0 also.......hoping to score at least an 18...lol. 17 isn't bad, maybe if you had like a 14 or something. But I think you'll be okay🙂
