well.. some people said research is very important but some said research is something that I can do or not.
So.. I was wondering... if research experience will really help me to get into school..
Well.. as far as EC/activity...
Im involved in 2 school club/association.
Basketball Intramurals.
500 hours of dental assisting.
SAT math, SAT II Math 1C,2C Tutoring experiences.

I am applying to UMDNJ, Tufts, NYU, Boston, Temple, Columbia, Maryland, Upenn, Buffalo, case.

Do you think research is important to these schools?

"Is research important to me" is the question you should be asking yourself. I have managed to gain acceptance to dental school and the only thing that I have ever researched is the back of a cereal box. Research will never hinder an application and will most likely help, so if you want to/have the opportuniuty to participate in research than you should. 👍 good luck

Do research if you like to get more hands-on experience.
If you do research just for the resume, don't because you will torture youself doing something you don't like.

Research never hurts in terms of EC. And if you've gotten published, thats even better b/c that means that you have excelled in whatever you were doing 🙂

What happens if I was in a research group for like 3 months but then I stopped due to schedule conflicts? (studying DAT)
Can i still put this down under research experience?

If you are about to apply (and considering your current EC's), there really isn't much of a reason for doing research.

Well I've done a genetics related research for about 3 months but I quit in the middle of it due to DAT stuff...
Any research epxerience, I can put down under research experience right? even if I did it for only 3 months?
