I know that they aren't reported in the AMCAS form (this is assuming a traditional student applying at the beginning of the senior year ugrad). But will med schools offer interviews/acceptances contingent upon the fall semester grades? I'm assuming you have to submit your final transcript once you graduate, but you'd be accepted at that time and unless you fail courses, you'll probably be fine. I'm just kinda worried about this semester eating into my chances of acceptance.

GWU sent me a letter saying I was waitlisted and not to send anything but my official transcript w/ updated fall grades. Scary, huh? I guess that could be important to a lot of schools because they want to see if your achievements are consistent and sincere and not just to get by on the AMCAS app

yeah, that is scary...especially since many people seem to be having a hard time this semester. I know I am, taking all my physics, filling out applications, studying for and taking the MCAT...and all that was this summer! ****! you get burned out so quickly when everything is dead and it still hasn't snowed...

Interesting topic to bring up.........I think anyone suffering from senioritis has pondered this issue time and time again. My thoughts are that we should keeps are grades up, but not be freaked out to get the dreaded B (if you're a B-phobic, hardcore premed). I'd rather concentrate on preparing for my interviews, and having my last rounds of good times as an undergrad

I totally agree with my Kansas compatriot here! Keeping up with grades is always important, but so is having fun and preparing for the next thirty years of your life.

i guess it only matters if you are trying to get in immediately after graduation and get waitlisted and all that jazz...

other than that...if you are an applicant that took a year off...they know your grades and base their decision with that....
